I made an update to the SERVER SEEKER program. You MUST download and use this version to communicate with the server. The previous versions will not work with the latest server update.
Sorry about the inconvenience, but this is a beta test!
Those links have the latest versions and when you access them, it will check if you have the latest one or not and upgrade whatever it is necessary. Some Internet Explorers seems to have issues with the links, so it is a better bet to use Mozilla/Firefox the first time. After that two shortcuts will be created and you can use them to start the programs and they will be updated automatically when necessary.
Cheers!

Hey there Wildcard.
Thing goes like what you said, more or less. People use the publisher to send their server's data to the master server (NOTE: The publisher does not need to be in the same computer you use for hosting) and then with the seeker, you connect to the master server and check the list of published servers. You select up to 5 of them and then update one of your connection files (.m4c) that reprensent your different multiplayer settings. When you click "update" the 5 IPs of the servers you have choosen are added to your multiplayer connection settings, so when you open up MW4 mercs and choose that settings, you'll have their IPs in there and you'll be able to actually see the servers.
That's as far as we can go so no, we cannot make MW4 Mercs connect directly to the servers, which would be nicer but... that's what we have.
The Seeker does NOT NEED to be running when you are playing even though if you leave it open, it won't affect your network as it just connects to the server when you hit refresh. So you can update your settings and close it. In fact, I tested to update my files with MW4 open when in the main menu and it worked, but I would not recommend playing with it .
The Publisher NEEDS TO BE UP for as long as you want your server to remain published, and it might impact your network connection slightly. However, it does not need to be in your gaming computer or in the MW4 server computer, so place it wherever you wish.
Brief step by step.
Seeker:
---------
.- Install the package (if you don't have Java already installed, follow the link I already posted)
.- Click MW4ServerSeeker shortcut in the desktop
.- Close to the refresh button, introduce "68.68.183.248" and "5000" in those two fields (without quotes)
.- Click refresh. After a pause you should be able to see some servers in the table
.- Double-click the ones you want to connect to, they will appear in the small table below
.- Click the folder button in the bottom right corner and go to your M4 Mercs home directory, there you should be able to select one of the .m4c files that represent your connection settings.
.- Click update
.- Open up MW4Mercs -> Multiplayer, select the connection settings corresponding to the .m4c file you updated. There you should see the IPs of the servers you double-cliked.
.- Connect and enjoy
Publisher:
------------
.- Install the package (if you don't have Java already installed, follow the link I already posted)
.- Click MW4ServerPublisher shortcut in the desktop
.- Close to the publish button, introduce "68.68.183.248" and "5000" in those two fields (without quotes)
.- Then introduce your server's data. The important thing to remember is that you need to fill up all the data and that the "WAN IP address" field needs to be the PUBLIC IP of your MW4 Server host.
.- Then click "publish"
.- If you want to see if it is really published, open up the Seeker to see your own server there .
.- Keep it open for as long as you want to remain published. Close the application or click "unpublish" to disconnect from the server.
