If you have a router then you will need to open some ports in order to play Mechwarrior 4.

Here are the ports I have open.

TCP Ports:
2300 - 2400, 9999, 27999, 28801 - 28809, 47624

UDP Ports:
2300 - 2400, 6073, 28800, 47624

I have a D-Links Gaming Router.
To get to the point of entering the ports I go to Menu tab (Advanced) then to side menu (Gaming)
Select the computer you want the ports to open on and enter the ports.
"Save" it and then scroll to the top and click "Save Setting"
